Installing Broadcom internal wireless controller

Ok I'm trying to install a broadcom 4318 internal wireless controller on an acer aspire 3000 laptop running PC Linux OS 2007 off a hard drive. I blacklisted bcm43xx, then wrapped a windows driver for it, I checked ndiswrapper and it says it's installed, but after a restart it doesn't detect the controller anymore. I used a driver I found on this website, but I dont think it is the right one. I'm having a VERY hard time finding WMP54GS.inf on the internet, which I know is the right one and the acer site is NO help whatsoever.

I personally use the "compat-wireless" package for broadcom chips, never had a problem.

I can't use this as I don't have the command 'aptitude' on PC linux os.

Ok I installed the wmp54gs driver, yet I cannot detect any wireless networks, even when I brought my laptop right up to the router. All my other wireless connections are working. I double-checked my wireless settings, everything seems ok, except the fact that linux labels my wireless connection as "eth2" but it knows it is wireless as it is under 'wireless' in the internet config program. So what did I do wrong here?

Ok so it says it's installed but I cannot detect any networks. BUT as soon as I plug in a PCMCIA wireless card and I swear to god, less than 10 seconds later it detected it and connected it without me having to click a single thing, but yet I can't get this internal wireless controller to work right -_-

Try the following commands:

depmod -a
modprobe ndiswrapper
su
ifconfig
