Shared Folder
I have a Ubuntu-based file server, running Samba, on a Windows network. everyhitng works fine except for a shared folder. I have set a folder on the desktop that is set to Shared. it's browseable and read/writeable, but when I attempt to make any changes from a Windows machine it responds with an "access denied" error.
thanks in advance for any help offered.

i had the same problem with a debian install running samba...the windows users had to each have a login on the debian box, as well as a samba login with the appropriate credentials -- ** OR ** -- you can make the share writable to guest accounts and let evreyonr in anonymously...the groups they were in needed to have 777 access to the share.
