Is there a distro that can defrag?
I know that Linux doesn't need to be defragged. I even know why.
But does anyone know if there is a live distro, something like QTPartEd maybe, that can defragment a windows partition while running in the live boot environment?
I don't want to install a boot time defrag tool, and my Vista partition seems to be so corrupt with bad sectors in both the page file and the registry.
I want to be able to play online and do stuff while defragging, as this will probably be very time consuming. (I've been running the chkdisk /r and /f /r commands for a couple of days now to try and fix it, and i know that a boot time defrag is next unless there's a better alternative.)
I can't believe I missed MiniMe!
If anyone is looking for a slim live distro that just works, MinMe is the answer! Almost all of the hardware on my HP Tablet PC (TX1410) works out of box, INCLUDING the BCM4321 with ndiswrapper! I didn't even have to unpack the driver. MiniMe had it already available!
If only their forums admins would wake up and let me log in...
So I am probably going to suggest this defrag-from-a-live-distro to them, and I'll "Ask Klaus" too. I think that this would be VERY helpful.
