PCLOS 2007 no internet connectivity
Hello All
Im a Linux n00b.
I jus installed PCLOS 2007. Installation was smooth but Im unable to connect to the net.
The power, link light r "on" but the LAN light is not "on"
Here are the tech specs
Motherboard: ASUS M2N8 VMX
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
The Onboard LAN is
Attansic L1 Gigabit nic.
I googled for driver
I got this driver SourceForge.net: Attansic L1 Gigabit Ethernet driver
I tried installing but got an error. Found that its not compatible with ther kernel. Updating kernel would resolve the issue.kernel updated to 2.6.24.3 the "LAN" wont turn on. But once i boot into windows, when the loading screen comes LAN light turns "ON".
"LSPCI" output

with google keywords "PCLOS L1" I found a thread.
PCLinuxOS
That person also has a ASUS M2 series motherboard
i found modprobe.conf file should have the alias specified. I updated this line
"alias eth0 atl1"
and viola it works.
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D SO Finally Im online.
