Minime
Hi All.
I installed 'Minime' (the stripped version of PClos) on the older computers in the office here.
Only thing is, that the internet connection is so slow in Bhutan, that it takes hours to update and install the rite packages, so my question is; Would it be possible to copy the programs, like; openoffice and mozilla from the older distribution pclinux 2007 and paste them into minime 2008?
Then they only would have to be updated, wich takes much lesser time.
Thnx very much

I'm guessing that minime and pclinuxos packages are fully compatible, but for that to work, you'd need to have all the dependencies (and the correct versions of them) to go along with the packages you mentioned, or they'd need to be already installed on your MiniMe system.
I'd recommend making a full backup of your current setup before trying to add lots of packages this way.
Maybe someone running MiniMe can step in and provide a better option.oz
