    Can a Seamonkey ( Iceape ) browser be safely used in PCLinuxOS Gnome?


    Has anyone downloaded and safely used a Seamonkey ( Iceape ) browser in PCLinux Gnome? Firefox is the only browser available and it does not suit my needs properly. Any input would be much appreciated! Rhanks!

    You can usually use any mozilla browser .tar.bz2 download in any distro in my experience (unless it is Xandros. The libs in Xandros are too old). Seamonkey, not Iceape, should run just fine in PCLoS.

    Just download the .tar.bz2 to /home. Extract the folder in /home. Try launching it and see what happens.

    Well I found out that my PCLinuxOS Gnome distro is two years old and discontinued. I downloaded and installed the Seamonkey
    ( seamonkey-2.0.11-1pcloc2010.i586.rpm ) appropriate for my distro which I like very much even if it is two years old and discontinued. I have a KDE disk but it froze up and overheated my computer just trying to boot up the disc to look at it.
