    The same thing happens if I bypass the "live" prg and install from the splash menu.

    I give up.... I have burned and booted no fewer than 18 flavors of Linux in the past few days. All on the same computer. Two of them were derived from Red Hat. All of them will boot after install except PCLOS. I guess it is just not meant to be. Linux MInt here I come.
