If you're looking to evaluate PCLinuxOS I'd suggest holding off till the end of this month when the developer is going to release PCLinuxOS 2007 "final". It looks like a very well designed Linux distribution and appears will remain free relying on financial support through donations. Hopefully in the near future the developer will consider running the company more in line like Novell and Red Hat by offering optional technical support for a service fee.
