I have been wanting to use Linux for a while. I finally decided to download Ubuntu a couple months ago but I've been having problems with my ATI Radeon 9250 (256MB PCI).I've tried everything that i could find on how to get it working and be able to have 3D acceleration but have had no luck. My question is, are there any distributions of Linux that work with this GPU, or is there an easy way to fix this? I dont really care what distribution i am using as long as it can run Compiz Fuzion and all of its features. Thanks^^

What did you try till now to enable 3D effects?
Post the contents of /etc/X11/xorg.conf file here.

I dont have linux on my system right now, i removed it and put windows back on after weeks of not being able to have 3D acceleration. I have tried doing what this site says and other various solutions like this with a few different steps in them. http://www.clipmarks.com/clipmark/28...-45D3988622CD/ The best i could ever do was just get Ubuntu to use my GPU with no 3D acceleration. What i was wondering was if there are any other distributions that doesnt have any problems with this video card, or one that would have an easier fix since none of the solutions I have tried have worked.

Ubuntu is one of the most User Friendly distro. Problem is with ATI Cards only. If its not working in Ubuntu by default, chances are, it will not work in other distros too. You have to configure it manually.
Check this Poll on Fav Linux Distro. Try as many as you can and stick with one. We will help you fix Graphics or any other problem.
