hello
I am using Ubuntu 7.10 (Kernel 2.6)
and I can't make my webcam get working
it's a Clone 11089 (brazilian company)

in lsusb appear like that:
0c45:612e Microdia

I've searched Google a lot and tried a lot of drivers, but without success.
and, with things I have found, it seems a lot of people are having problems with this webcam on Linux

Take a look at the Gentoo Wiki. It shows how to do a cam step by step. Also, print your Kernel Config file here.

tried some of the possible drivers, but no life signal...

and... where is the kernel config file, so I can post it here?

The Kernel Config is:
/usr/src/linux/config
but if you dont know what it is I think you dont have it.
Since you didnt compile your own kernel then

If you do compile your own kernel you will see some settings you have to enable bnefore being able to get Webcam support

Ubuntu 7.10 doesn't already come with this support enabled by default?
because I tested other webcam, and worked perfectly... it's something strange with this one

Ah, well I dont know about Ubuntu since I always compile my own kernel.
Anyhow, umm if the other did work.
