Hello

I've been searching all over the Web for Linux drivers for the Samsung 753DF monitor, albeit unsuccessfully. I'm wondering if anyone knows about the availability of these drivers.

don't think you actually need drivers for the monitor, only the correct setup in your /etc/X11/XF86Config file (Mandake uses /etc/X11/XF86Config-4) There is a tutorial on this subject in this forum.

The figures you will need to find out, are the horizontal and vertical frequencies of your monitor. These are then plugged into the Monitor section of this file.

I tried manually configuring the xf86config file also. However, that didn't help. So I surmise the main problem is that Mandrake doesn't recognise the Intel 915G chipset, which is very strange, as I did download the unified driver from Intel's web-site and successfully compiled it. I also tried using the i810 generic setting. Of course, that didn't work either. So I think it would be best for me to wait for a few months, get the 2.7 kernel when it releases, and hope that has driver support for 915G.

yes, there is something at the very back of my mind telling me somnething about this sort of support and building kernels (which, I must admit I haven't done for a while).
