Epson C44 Plus - Linux hates my printer! (Perhaps me too!)

Hello everyone!

Linux newbie here, please be gentle....

Recently installed Fedora Core 3. Very very happy with it! Seems to intensely dislike my printer though...Epson C44 Plus; USB connection. Coudn't find any drivers for it, so I tried to install it with what Linux recomended, C60 drivers maybe? Anywho, seemed to work fine for a couple of prints, then things went odd......Whenever I turn the printer on now it automatically feeds paper through, (somewhat agressively, in my opinion), sheet after sheet, without the printer head moving an inch, until all the paper has been fed through. Then it just sits there, glaring at me menacingly.......

I've exhausted all the tuts and faqs that I can find. Any advice that anyone can give me will be greatly received!!

Many thanks!

this printer is supported in CUPS !
now the easy way to config CUPS is to use a browser and goto 127.0.0.1:631 and use the gui, under the admip tab add a printer then follow through to the end then goto printers and print a test page. I had this printer working in 2 miutes at a medical conferance last august!

EDIT: removed 172.0.0.1:631 replaced with 127.0.0.1:631 ....'finger disconnect from brain'
