gcc under suse linux 10

gcc is not installed by default, but if you open YAST, log in as root, then click on software management, you will see a new screen with a search box. type gcc in the search and click search. Make sure there is a tick in the box next to gcc in the right hand pane. Then click Accept and it will install. Use this method for anything you are looking for to install such as bash ....
