    bank account monitoring?

    howdy!

i just got screwed by my landlord and i'm looking for some kind of gnome panel widget that might monitor my bank account so i don't get overdrawn. i can hold my own at writing scripts but i really don't know enough to write something that will login to my bank account and download transaction data. anybody have any bright ideas on how to get this off the ground, or if there's something that does this already? seeing a big, red "$-250.00" sign next to the current date might motivate me to get a real job.

much depends on how you get thru to the bank. In the old pre-graphics
days, the tool of choice was kermit: very powerful login scripting
    provisions, etc.
