    I want to download files around 2GB from FTP. It would be better to compress those files as zipped file.

    How can i compress files in FTP command line.

    Standard ftp doesn't have the option to compress files. Either you compress them 1st with gzip or use a different ftp package like wu-ftpd.

    FTP server is Windows NT machine. how can i compress the files in server machine via commandline or scripts?
