booting

Hi All,


Iam new to linux env and i am seeking , what is need of compresed kernel , while booting and afte loading the kernel image into RAm and it is decompressed .


Is there any Reason for that ..pls if any body knows .......


i have a question from one of interview ...

In a system , there r 4 O.S are installed ,

when first time , the system is switched on , it has to load first OS.

when second time , the system is switched on , second os is installed . like that etc.


he ask me . how can u achive this ?

Is it posible . pls pls give me a ans
