Best distro for GTK+ and Glade development?
What is the best linux distro that has a full GTK+development suite with dependencies ready to be installed from the install discs without having to build GTK+, GLIB, Pango, ATK, etc... I read on yolinux.com about RedHat having RPMs for installing after initial OS install. Does anyone else know of any other distros that have a GTK environment?
Thanks
note: For some reason I just can't get the GTK+, GLIB, Pango, ATK, etc, to line up correctly (version wise) and Configure, Make, and Make Install. I really would like to program for Linux, but there are just too many instructions on the web in forums and what not, on how to do this, which is weird to me.

I don't think there is a best. Most distros have these packages. You can either install them when you initially setup the OS (assuming that the installation media has them) or you can install them afterwards from the cd/dvd sets or via online software repositories. Fedora, Mandriva, openSUSE, Debian and other distros all have the libraries you need available on some of their installation media.

OK thanks this makes sense now. I thought they had the libs and such on the install DVD, but I just wasn't sure which packages I should install. I am going to try Fedora this time instead of Debian because of the Logo hehe no, because I found that definitive list of RPMs for GTK and dependencies. Which I don't think were all there when I did Debian, in Synaptic...
Thanks

Debian has the the most packages when compared to other Linux distros and it has the packages you were looking for. A search for gtk should have brought up a list of gtk related packages.
