Hello Everybody,
I am a novice in Scripting, hence please guide me where to start and do provide the reference links & free download able eBooks.

I even have one query :
if [ -d file ] # file - represents the directory name
# checks whether the folder exists

can anyone explain the usage of -d and other characters if any....
