    I'm looking for a program that can draw flowchart, finite state diagram, etc. like Microsoft Visio or similar.

    Can you suggest me anything, because there are lots of such a programs I cannot test all of them?

    Have a look at Kivio (part of koffice) and dia.

    i've tried dia, but it doesn't seem to have the possibility of rotate objects...

    Look into Graphviz. It's what I used for probability trees and state diagrams in my classes last year. Its formatting can sometimes be a little wonky, but I found it easy enough to use.
