    Smile [SOLVED] Need Examples of Bash Shell script

    Hi all,
    All this week i'm taking a class on Unix shell scripting mostly for Windows users
    ..[Hidden Agenda : Trying to convert them from Windows to Linux ]

    ...Three days of class is over....now they want more examples on shell commands
    especially on grep,find,sed,awk

    I searched google and got few sites...:drown:
    But if know any good site just let me know...

    A google on "Bash Script Programming" usually bring up the better sites, but also go and check out the well know university sites as they have very interesting shell scripts as excerises and class tutorials.

    the tool that does the job of grep,sed,wc,cut etc. -> awk.

    Anyway, since I can't recommend a site, I will recommend a book, which I can't recommend enough:

    Despite the title (Advanced Bash Scripting Guide), it's suitable for all levels, from starters to bash gurus.

    It's for bash, even though the name is "sh" in the URL.

    I checked all the sites and took note of few example given there and used it in my class ..few ppl asking me for "Linux Live CD" to try at home
