Installing gcc or glibc on limited proprietary linux distro
Hi
I've got a Thecus N5200 that I'd like to install JungleDisk on. My longer term aim is to get a proper distro on there, negating any problems with installing JungleDisk. I've already posted about that here:

But in the mean time, while I have ssh, I'd like to get JungleDisk working with what's already there. That would have two advantages:
1) It should hopefully be quicker
2) I can package the solution up as a 'module' hopefully allowing other
While this is about a specific app, it's really a more general question about determining the dependencies of a binary, and satisfying them, which is why I've put the thread in here, and not the software section.
An important thing to remember is that the root file system is on a 64MB flash disk, which is 84% used. So I guess that give me only 10 MB to play with there. However, stuff can be installed on the RAID array itself (for instance, that's where the modules are installed from the webgui).
JungleDisk tell me that I need gcc/glibc 3.4 or later:

The question is, is there a way I can just copy over a directory, and get the binary to see that, in a local path (don't want to mess up anything else that's running on the Thecus)? I read that any old 32-bit intel x86 binaries will work on the Thecus, so could I get them from my Ubuntu desktop install?
Thanks in advance
