seting up a Linux cluster
Hey,
sure this is not the regular start to the Linux world but that is the way I go
(I am working with unix for quite a long time so the switch should not be too difficult). Now about the cluster:
It is going to be based on 15 400 mhz nodes (sure that is not very much power and not really productive after all, but it is a project to learn about the configuration of clusters so the performance is not the main point).
I already did some researches on the web and found out about the power of MOSIX. Now the question is which distribution to choose ?
I thought about xubuntu because it is light weighted, based on the very popular ubuntu distribution and also combines the advantages of xfec.
So the problem is I have to configure all nodes step by step. sure I can copy one installation and then install it on the other nodes, but if I install one new package I have to add it on every node, or ? so I am searching for a way to maintain two or more computers at a time so they all look the same (the hardware is basically the same).
