hi guys,
i have wasted allot of time researching this topic. i am currently writing a program that requires signals from external hardware. i chose the to use the parallel port because it is simple to program.

Does anyone know if usb-to-parallel things are accessed the same way as normal parallel ports (outb and inb)? assuming that they work on the first place.

and if it is accessed in the same way, can anyone recommend a specific type. PCI cards are not an option (i am using a laptop).
