Problem to using USB connection !!!
HI,
I have purchase a new kit from freescal, ZSTAR2, but i have a problem to communicate with him using the USB connection, i can communicate whith the board connected to my PC using hyperterminal under windows, he using a classic serial communication !! but under linux i can't found a driver or a method to communicate whit these board !!!
you found here the response of freescale support :
" Thank you for your interest in Freescale Semiconductor products and for the opportunity to serve you.
Unfortunately we do not have USB Drivers for this board, you will have to write your own driver.
But it is possible to get data directly like if it where a normal Serial Port, as you might know this board uses a proprietary protocol, you will need to send a character to start the communication with the board."
and these a link to the manual of these kit ZSTAR2:http://www.freescale.com/files/senso...RRM.pdf?fpsp=1
these is some part of the manual, explain the communication betwen the board and the PC:
"5.4 STAR Protocol and ZSTAR Extensions (Over USB)
The ZSTAR demo uses a subset of the original STAR demo protocol commands. This way, most of the
software originally developed for the RD3112MMA7260Q (STAR) is also usable with the ZSTAR.
The STAR demo communicates over the RS232 serial line with a simple text-based protocol. The same
protocol is used in ZSTAR for communication between the USB stick and a PC (over a virtual serial port).
The PC application sees the same interface (serial port) and the same protocol as if a STAR demo was
connected."
l hope that you can help me
thanks advanced
