Cross compiler problem!

Hi Guys!

I am on ubuntu 7.10 and am trying to build the cross compiler for the iphone as following the steps here:

Building - iphone-dev - Google Code - How to build the toolchain.

Now - I get to nearly the last step :

make LLVM_VERSION_INFO=2.0-svn-iphone-dev-0.3-svn

However this command fails after running for a while with :


configure: error: cannot execute: /usr/local/bin/arm-apple-darwin-ld: check --with-ld or env. var. DEFAULT_LINKER make: [configure-gcc] Error 1

I Installed llvm through ubuntu - (eaerly in the tutorial guide above, i chose to)sudo apt-get install llvm because compiling it myself lead to horrific problems and apt is quicker!

Now - i appreciate this is not peoples strong point here, but somebody rekoned it was to do with incorrectly setting the HEAVENLY environment variable, which is part of the guide just a bit above the step I am getting stuck on.

Can somebody please tell me how I see what i set the HEAVENLY environmet variable to plese, so I can check!
