Any need to dismount ro filesystems before yanking the power?
If I'm using a live CD and the only hard disks I have mounted are mounted as read-only can any damage occur to the machine if the power is yanked?
Also related, I know it's more a hardware question but as I'm already asking... do modern hard drives auto-park their heads if the power suddenly dies or might they end up being left over the platters?
