Script mod to boot random OS?

I got 4 machines all 4- or 5- multi-boot. Is there a way to change the default boot to random boot? Something based on time - day, hour, minute, or maybe sequence?

Completely random would involve a lengthier script surely...

Not sure. The best thing I can think of is to create a shutdown script that will change the default boot choice based on the time/day/whatever.

I would not recommend this though - you would have the potential of ruining your "/boot/grub/menu.lst" file (or whatever it is for your bootloader).

Actually, I think this would be the easiest one -- provided you know how to recompile and reinstall your bootloader. Just replace the code where he sets the default entry. Should be a one-liner.
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.
