Loading a Linux Machine
Hi
I am tsting a SW application on a VM Machine form a ESX Server.
The application will be run on a Linux Server in the production environment. I need to load my VM machine, to ape the production environment, where the server is usually very busy reading/writing to database, responding to client requests etc.
What kind of a Deamon/Script can I run in the background for the same.
Thanks

You can get LoadRunner, which is a commercial load-generation tool used for this sort of purpose. I have used it in the past to simulate a large number of users hitting the system, database, etc. It is not a beginners tool, however, nor is it cheap. From what I can tell, HP bought the developing company, Mercury Interactive, some time ago. They also developed the testing tools X-Runner and WinRunner. You should be able to get an evaluation copy from the hp web site.
