    About Bochs enhancement(arm,mips...)

During a computer system course this evening, my teacher mentioned about implement a Linux Emulator (like the very successful Bochs for x86) , but for embedded chips like the ARM or MIPS. And even suggest to transplant it on a real ARM or MIPS machine. It sounds great, but I don't know much about the implementation of an emulator and the required knowledge to do so.

    Are there any good suggestions?

I don't get it. What do you want to emulate on what?
Debian GNU/Linux -- You know you want it.
