I am porting a solaris code to linux, I want to know the equivalent commands that are available in linux.Im using red hat linux


command 1) There is a command called 'ct' in solaris to spawn a remote login process, ct command will dial to a given telephone number. alternative I found is 'cu' command in linux man pages, But it is not avalable in my linux machine. Is there any pakage available to make 'cu' work in my system.

command 2)can 'nohup' can be issued to a process or a process group in linux? if so I need the command.
