    I have a question

Can we use CRON to create new user accounts?

root can run cron jobs - so i'd guess the answer is yes. useradd

seems odd that creating user accounts would be a repeating job, guess you're getting a list of new users from another system periodically...

Just make sure to not run useradd on existing users and make sure that one can't inject a user into your system. A system is only "safe" as long as noone is able to log in. Once someone is logged in, security is compromised because the user can potentially jailbreak. I would regard such a "import" as a serious security thread to get rid of.

But why use cron instead of just casting a normal command or just using other auto-scripts? Can you tell us why?

Just curious because my teacher asked me and I wasn't sure
