pxelinux menu how can I get menu bar at the top?

    case in point this...

novell has a tutorial from 2006, when I replicate it *the best I can, it seems to be missing stuff,* nothing works, only text is display including escape codes. I assume syslinux no longer supports this? I would like to create a menu that has a menu bar at the top with Function keys to go to other lists. The reason why I want this is because my pxe menu is too compartmentalize too many sub menus within sub menus etc.. etc..

I would like F1 TOOLS F2 INSTALL O/S F3 LIVE O/S and so on then have Separator bar and sub menus to organize it. Reading syslinux documentation it doesn't look like I can do this, with the exception of Function Keys.

Am I going about this the wrong way?

    How can I do this?
