scripting in linux
hello everyone. i am very new to the linux and unix and could use the knowledge of the forum everyone help. I am currently doing a project in school and required to script a small program.
the help I need is that i am stuck on 2 parts.
First part is I have to write a script that shows contents of a user specified if a file exist; otherwise show a complaint.
Second part is to compile a c++ program to produce a file called a.out and redirect any errors. Make sure it is executable , and if it is successful to rename the a.out to the name of the source file followed by .exe. and to get confirmation by the user if you are replacing an existing file.
Please help me out guys!

Hello and welcome to the forums!
Sorry, but our forum rules prohibit homework questions and most users here don't want to do someone's homework for them anyway, so I'm locking this:

Once you have written some code, you can post it in a new thread and someone might be able to help with any errors that it produces.oz
