    Compiling the Kernel

    Hi,

Whenever I compile the kernel, even from a clean state (direct copy from /usr/src), I get the following message:
    Code:
/home/dtroberts/kernelSrc/scripts/Makefile.fwinst:34 ***Mixed implicit and normal rules. Stop.
    make[1]: *** [modules] Error 2
Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I need to get this compiled -_-

    Thank you.

Since the error is pointing to line 34 of your Makefile, could you post that here?
