General thoughts about how to create a very basic 2D CAD system? :^)

    Hey Guys,

I was just curious but would appreciate any help on creating a very simple 2D CAD program, nothing in depth just some basic ideas. Such as the right way to create a line when a user inputs units say as a decimal value.

I just installed the Linux Mint OS on my PC and would also like to know if it comes with a C compiler already installed?

    Thanks!

I think you don't need to do your own program. Linux has some CAD programs such as FreeCAD.

As for the compiler, Linux mostly uses gcc. If you run 'gcc' in your terminal you will now if you have it. Otherwise you could download and install the binary package from your distribution.
