    Lightbulb Bandwidth Monitor That Tweets

    Hey,
    Im New here and i'm slightly new to linux server im helping a mate, Hes Hosting GTA DNS servers that are on linux servers but one of them when down today he said it was due to overload on bandwidth.
    My Question is Can anyone whip me up a script that runs a "Bandwidth Monitor" and when it hits a certain % It tweets saying:

    "The Server <IP ADDRESS> Is At 100% and will overload if anyone else joins this server the server will over load"

    I Found a Tweet Script:

    Code:
    ################################
    #!/bin/bash
    # tweet_mess.sh Tweet from your Linux account

    USERNAME=”email_or_username”
    PASSWORD=”password”

    URL=http: //twitter.com/statuses/update.xml
    # Post to Twitter.
    result=`curl -u $USERNAME:$PASSWORD -d status=”This is where you will place your message for Twitter” $URL`

    exit 0
    ################################
    There is no space is this I had to add a space because Im New:

    URL=http: //twitter.com/statuses/update.xml

    Have you checked out Nagios it can monitor all aspects of a computer and raise alerts.

    Also you want this kind of info going out to Twitter versus an email or page?
