    ldconfig looks in it's conf file and makes the links and sets up the cache for shared libraries to be used by ld - the linker. The libraries are listed in the the file - often /etc/ld.so.conf - one per line. So, for libthread to be used by your compile ldconfig will need to know about /lib.

    You might ask in a forum for the product your using, or ask the support folks, about ldconfig on your system. Since it's in an ipkg directory it may need to be installed by ipkg.
