script to check certain services are installed

I need a script that my clients can run via a php file that will check to see if the box they have has certain services installed before they attempt to install our software. here is a list of things it needs to check:

CHECK OS VERSION (if other than RH or Freebsd then mention the software install may not work correctly)

CHECK IF GCC LIBRARIES INSTALLED ( if no, then mention you cant install untill GCC is installed)

CHECK IF PURE-FTPD IS RUNNING (check if running on port 1337, if no repsonse check port 21)

CHECK IF HTTP IS RUNNING BY USER "apache1"

    CHECK IF DAEMONTOOLS IS INSTALLED

CHECK IF SVSCAN IS RUNNING BY USER ROOT

I'd be willing to paypal someone $10 if they could put somthing together for me. Or just reply to this thread with the correct syntax to check each service.

    Thanks
