How to send Jumbo frames ?

    Hi all,
I intend to write a small utility that can send Jumbo frames. I have a Ethernet Gigabit card.
At the moment, I can send only normal frames with size below 1500 octets. When I specify a higher size, the sendto function return an error value.
I appreciate any suggestions. It's urgent.
    Thanks for reading the message.

If jumbo frames are supported by the driver:

ifconfig eth0 mtu xxxx, where xxxx up to 9022 (bytes) or sometimes
    16110 (bytes)

    Other useful settings:
ifconfig eth0 txqueuelen 10000 (transmit queue size)
    /sbin/sysctl w sys.net.core.netdev_max_backlog=10000
    (receive queue size)
