    problem compiling java!


    i have installed JDK 5.0 rpms...for my distro redhat 9.0. but when i compile using 'javac' command it reports that certain package(such as swing package) can't be found. i think there something i need to do to the environment variable to set the path so that when compiled it look for the directories of java to take certain API. but i dont know how to do it...
    please help!

    try adding the java's path to your path variable by editing the ./.bashrc file, add this line:

    export PATH=$PATH:/usr/java/jre-1_5_0_01
    replace /usr/java/... with the actual path to java.
