The first 4 questions that is 1- a,b,c,d & 3
can be easily done by the sed command. How to do it is mentioned in the link i gave you and the examples i have already listed out
the renaming of 1000 files you have to write a basic shell script to do it.
its easy
U can search for shell scripting on the net. there are lot of books to learn. It does not take much time for a beginner to learn the basics
