    how to read /etc/shadow


    Hello friends,
    want to read the /etc/shadow file but problem is that i want it without root user ...
    mean without any comprise from root side how i read that file.....

    i want to clear that root is not going to give u any permission....

    somebody suggested me to use SET_USER_ID bit of /etc/shadow file but to set this bit i need again root privileges.....

    please give me some way .....

    If you cannot gain root acces on the system you are working on,
    trty using /etc/passwd instead.

    /etc/shadow is a protected file and you should not be messing with it.
