    run script on schedule

I'd like to get the script running to automatically archive the forum on a nightly basis.

By far I manually run the script every night :
    perl webbbs_archive.pl

    I checked Linux command manual, found sched_setscheduler, sched_getscheduler, sched_yield.

I still don't know how to set a time using these commands.
This will be the only one scheduler in my server, so scheduling policies (sched_FIFO, RR) is not a important issue.

I seach though this forum. I couldn't find any related issue.

My server is Redhat Linux. Please give me some advice
    Thanks in advance

You're going to want to look into cron. There is a guide here at LFDO:

Post again if you need help with that.

    Hi Cabhan:

It's my first time to post message in this forum. I'm so happy to get your valuable suggestion so quickly.

I made my event scheduler work now.

    Thanks very much.

    Hi Shelly,

it called unix own scheduler which runs automatically every minute.
You can put an entry into cronjob file and make the script to run at midnight.

for more information pls look into the manual of cronjob. or you can mail me i will send more information on this.
