    Decoding a makefile


    Hi,
    I am working on a IDS(a freeware).I have the source code with me. I have to split it into modules. I have separate makefile for all modules.But I don't know how to run each module separately. Can I find this information from the makefile.If so how to find it.
    Can anybody help?

    The basic syntax is:
    Code:
    $(MAKE) -C $(SUBDIR)
    where SUBDIR is the subdirectory containing the makefile.
