Compiler Design in C by Allen I. Holub was the recommended text book when I did compiler design...it was ok...lots of code if i remember but quite hard core...

You can get it at amazon or firstandsecond.com (an indian book site that sells the eastern edition - its in english just on cheaper paper and is like £2 compared to £40!)

Depends on what aspects of compiler design you want information on. If you just want to learn parsing, I can recommend reading the texinfo manual for GNU bison. It contains a lot of useful info on that subject.
