    how to run view php scripts


    Hi, i am learning php scripting on my linux (fedora core 4), i scripted the files and save as .php
    and use firefox to open file, when i try to open the php files the firefox doesn't open it and asks ME for program to open the php file instead, default as gedit
    my quesiton is how do u view the php scripts?

    you do have apache installed, right?
    Then ~> browse to your files with something like: http://localhost/
    or http://10.0.0.138 (whatever is your lan-ip)

    /edit: otherwise: check out your mime type settings!

    You should also have php installed onto your box with Apache. I would set up a complete LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) server on there considering you will probably want to learn MySQL if you are learning PHP.
