    Programming X

    What should I learn if I want to program X? There a couple toolkits around, and the X11 library itself, but what should I learn? I know C++/C, and I already know the Win32 API if that helps any. I've seen the GTK and other things - what should I use? and what are some good refrences on that (books/ tutorials)?
