    Programming with Qt 3 (new book) env. problem

    I am using Fedora. It installed Qt-3.1.2 in /usr/lib/ directory.

    Book says install Qt-3.2.1 (which came with the book) in /usr/local/ directory, which I did and compiled it without any problems.

    Im not sure how to change the QTDIR and the other enviroment variables.
    The method given in the book did not do the trick for me ( I am a bit new at this sort of thing.

    Some of the examples require Qt 3.2.1 or greater. I would like some help befor I go and screw up everything.

    Incidently, the book looks GREAT at first blush

    Thanks

    As any other environment variable, u export the QTDIR if u need it. if you need the path to be always set. create a shell script in your /etc/profile.d

    Code:
    /etc/profile.d/qt.sh

    #!/bin/sh
    #Code setting qt3 enviroment variable

    QTDIR = $QTDIR:/usr/lib/qt3

    export QTDIR

    Thanks Vipin,

    I have caught a lot of fish in my 78 years.

    Your suggestion was a big help.

    Thanks again
