    new linux distro need help

I'm not sure where to post this, but I would like to create a new Linux distribution. I would like is to be free (like most are), and not just thrown together by one person. If you could do anything to help, it would be appreciated. Even suggestions would be useful. It would be really nice if someone who was good at programming and compiling Linux could help.

May I offer a suggestion. Please help with an existing distro rather than creating your own. There are to many already IMHO.

did you ever try Gentoo, Debian Netinstall or LFS? you can build evrything from scratch.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

Lots of people want to start a new Linux distribution and call it their own, but in most cases they don't have the knowledge or resources required to do it and instead depend on others to do it for them. In most cases, that approach will fail.

That said, if you have the knowledge and resources needed, it would be better to help out with a distro that already exists, as stated by the others above.
