Bash messages edit
Hi! This is actually a stupid and useless question, but may help me understanding where things are, how do they work and having an even more customized system too.
I was wondering if I could change the way the terminal communicates to me, editing the automated messages it prints in determined circumstances (e.g. the "Sorry, try again." when I mistype the root password, or the "do you wish to continue" when I am trying to install something) with custom one. Is there a file with all those strings echoed? Which one is it?
I made some researches, but didn't find anything. Is it because nobody ever raised the problem as it's a rather demented one?
Thanks to anyone which can/wishes to help!
BASH is answering you. The best you can do is download the BASH source code and dig into the text files. That's what open source is ment to.
